Founder Christopher Atkinson has always been an entrepreneur at heart. In 1990, after serving in the US Army, Chris started several small businesses in Michigan. This gave Chris the opportunity to provide commercial cleaning, carpet cleaning, and restoration services to local businesses in SE Michigan. Over the years, disaster restoration became Chris’ area of expertise. With great expansion and success in this industry restoration and remediation became his sole business focus. 

In August 2005, Chris learned of hurricane Katrina preparing for landfall. He knew with his expertise in restoration and mold remediation his team could provide help where it was needed most. His disaster response team arrived in Hattiesburg, MS and began immediately taking care of the people and their homes. Chris and his team worked around the clock on homes, churches, and commercial properties. The response team stayed in Hattiesburg for almost one year to help clean up and prevent mold growth across the city. 

In 2013, Chris used his 20+ years of professional remediation experience to create a groundbreaking product, RMR-86 PRO Mold Stain Remover, that eliminated mold stains within seconds. He manufactured and distributed to national recognized disaster restoration companies such as: Belfor, Service Master, 1-800 Water Damage, Paul Davis, and more. Previous removal techniques such as soda blasting, ice blasting, scraping, wire brushing, and sanding were costly and time consuming. RMR-86 Pro cut labor costs by over 75% on their mold remediation jobs. 

In 2015, the RMR-86 Instant Mold & Mildew Stain Remover launched to the consumer market. RMR-86 became the first and only professional mold stain remover used in the field by professionals, that is also available to the average consumer. 

In 2020, RMR Solutions was on the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 with our new disinfectant RMR-141. RMR-141 was one of the first disinfectant products on the EPA's N-List providing schools, hospitals, churches, and daycares with disinfectants, as well as education on proper disinfection procedures. To continue to provide aid during the pandemic, RMR Solutions donated 15,000+ bottles of disinfectant to the American Red Cross and other non-profit organizations. 

In 2021, RMR Solutions took the next step to make everyone a pro. With our continued success and trusted formulas we added more professional grade options for our homeowners.
